This role will allow you shape the process development, sustainment, and improvement of semiconductor processing.
This opportunity is at the core of a new technology area and is looking for innovative researchers and operators to develop, grow, and transition from lab development to a high-volume environment.
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Semiconductor Equipment Technician for Microelectronics at our Palm Bay, FL location.
As a Semiconductor Equipment Technician at L3Harris, you will be a vital member of our manufacturing team, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of semiconductor manufacturing equipment used in defense industry projects.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of semiconductor tools through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
The candidate(s) that obtain this position will need to have the ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule in Q2 of 2024 (timeline not guaranteed):
Compressed Shift 1A (Sun, Mon, Tue e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)
Compressed Shift 1B (Thu, Fri, Sat e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)

Essential Functions:
Perform advanced maintenance, repair, and calibration of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on semiconductor tools to ensure optimal performance, extended equipment lifespan, and minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues with semiconductor equipment and implement timely corrective actions.
Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize production interruptions and meet manufacturing objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement equipment enhancements or modifications for improved efficiency and productivity.
Lead the planning and execution of equipment maintenance and repair schedules, prioritizing tasks based on production needs.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior technicians and production operators on equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
Work closely with vendors and equipment suppliers to procure spare parts, ensuring their timely availability and quality.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including maintenance logs, repair reports, troubleshooting procedures, and equipment modifications.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Associates’ Degree or equivalent technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
Bachelor's degree is a plus.
8 years of experience as a Semiconductor Equipment Technician, with a strong focus on tool maintenance and repair, preferably in the defense industry.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
Ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule in Q2’2024 (timeline not guaranteed):

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas:
Advanced packaging equipment maintenance (e.
g.
, wafer bonding, die bonding, C4, surface mount technology, etc.
)
Wafer-level processing equipment maintenance (e.
g.
, lithography, wet etch, dry etch, PVD, PECVD, CMP, metrology, etc.
)
Preferred Additional Skills:
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Experience working in classified government programs
Previous experience working in a Class 100 cleanroom
Previous experience using commercial Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Proficient in maintaining and repairing a wide range of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including lithography, wet etch, dry etch, deposition, CMP, dicing, metrology, and inspection tooling.
Proven experience in diagnosing and efficiently resolving complex electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues in semiconductor tools.
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools to drive process improvements.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
