Job Summary:
This position provides oversight and leadership for the total athletics program in accordance with the mission statement and the policies of the school and the rules of the state athletic association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide a good learning environment by keeping proper discipline on the school premises

· Supervise all coaches, providing direction, counsel and advice(Ephesians 4:12)
· Coordinate all extra-curricular activities
· Provide for preseason and postseason reviews for each sport
· Responsible for any co-curricular activities deemed necessary for successful school as may be assigned by the Head of School
· Serve as a liaison between and among the principal, teacher, parents, extra and co-curricular sponsors, student body, and members of the community
· Be familiar with the school policies and those of appropriate national organizations, state athletic association and any league in which the school participates
· Confirm and monitor athletics eligibility for all student athletes
· Maintain a file of student athlete records, such as physical exam forms, eligibility forms, permission slips, rosters, athletics awards and statistical records
· Coordinate with coaches the scheduling of all tournaments, interscholastic contests, trips, clinics, camps, practices and scrimmages related to athletics
· Plan athletics programs for the entire year in consultation with building principals and provide input for all athletics events on the master calendar (Psalm 90:17)
· Assess fields and gyms to make sure there is no cause for injury through negligence and neglect.
Report to the appropriate individuals any campus safety, health and maintenance needs that are observed
· Participate, when requested, in formal and informal parent-teacher conferences
· Coordinate and prepare the athletics budget in collaboration with coaches from each sport and present it to school administration for inclusion in the general budget.
Follow up on budgetary compliance by the coaches (Luke 14:28)
· Obtain liability insurance when required
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
· Hold the minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in related field
· Hold a minimum of an ACSI temporary teacher certification or be willing to participate in a program to complete the requirements for certification within a specified time period
· Hold and maintain first aid and CPR certification
· Have knowledge of the overall operation of an athletics department
· Acceptable training to meet the standards of the state athletic association for certification of coaches
· 5 years teaching experience preferred
· Possess good verbal and written communication skills (Hebrews 12:14)
