Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Melbourne, FL
Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm
Salary: $60,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits and generous 401K Plan.
REQUIRED:
A minimum of 4 years warehousing/logistics experience
A minimum of 2 years supervising warehouse personnel
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Forklift and picker experience
Preferred:
Current or previous Forklift certification
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
Overseeing receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
Setting up layout and ensure efficient space utilization
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
Prepare annual budget
Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
Delegate non-managerial tasks to Logistics and repair personnel
Perform and manage performance of project work
Provide employees under direct supervision, the training and tools necessary to meet customer expectations
Conduct performance evaluations for employees as required by the Company, and include customer feedback
Create individual and team goals and objectives
Identify needs for developmental training
Conduct and document monthly departmental meetings
Qualifications
Proven work experience in warehouse, supply chain, and/or logistics function(s)
Good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
Must be comfortable in a team environment and be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be a self-starter
Proficient in department tools as well as corporate wide applications and tools
Ability to work effectively on a team and lead by example
Have strong analytical, problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
Ability to work on and complete multiple assignments on a timely basis
Capacity to mentor direct or indirect personnel
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Maintain certifications for self and staff
Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
Leadership skills and ability manage staff
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Education
Maintain certification for equipment used in warehouse operations
