It has been divided by the Sebastian Inlet for the past 100 years which allows the waters of the Indian River Lagoon to mix with the Atlantic Ocean.

00 Annually Your Specific Responsibilities: ADMINISTRATION - Track park inventories and make supply orders.
Prepare and maintain Purchasing Card and Field Purchase Orders.
Complete reports and assignments.
Maintain tools and equipment inventories.
Assist in maintaining property and sensitive items inventory.
Complete employee performance evaluations.
Participate in employee training, supervision and discipline.
Ensure property procedures and policies are applied.
Participate in the administration of the collective bargaining agreement and maintains good employee relations.
Coordinate work schedules and assignments.
VISITOR SERVICES - Meets the public, interprets the resources, facilities and services, resolves problems and provides for good public relations.
Supervises the staff in providing visitor services.
Greet visitors and give out information.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - Participates in the administrative coordination of resource management programs applicable to park unit including ecological burning, water level management, native species propagation, erosion control and exotic removal.
MAINTENANCE - Identify needs through daily checks.
Maintain maintenance schedules and work lists.
Supervise staff.
Supervise and assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities, buildings, roads, bridges, trails, water systems, vehicles, equipment, etc Ensure repairs are made.
Maintain park grounds.
Follow all labels instructions on all chemicals etc.
Notify a supervisor when a piece of equipment needs repair, service or is missing.
Construct, maintain and repair buildings, brick, cement, block, plumbing, wiring, roofing, trim, framing exterior and interior finish, painting, floors, doors, and windows and to include carpentry, fences, trails, service roads, fire lanes, boardwalk, campsites, picnic area, picnic tables and all other park facilities and/or park equipment.
Operate equipment and vehicles, such as power tools, chain saws, tractors, dump trucks, mowers, sprayers, and atv’s.
Insure proper operation of vehicles, equipment and tools.
Ensure proper fluid levels are checked for equipment.
PROTECTION - Lock and secure all facilities.
Secure all tools vehicles and equipment, Enforce park rules, regulations and laws.
Document all incidents on CMI’s report incidents to supervisor.
Provide emergency assistance when necessary.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to: prepare and maintain schedules and reports; conduct inspections of park facilities, equipment and grounds; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; plan for utilization and preservation of facilities and resources; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; operate personal computers.
