Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Scrap Metal Recycling Facility.
The Yard Manager will be responsible for managing transportation, materials handling, order fulfillment, and process improvement to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Responsibilities:
- Setting a positive environment for fellow employees
- Getting employees moving and maintaining them on task.
- Manage transportation of the containers to and from customers, selling containers, and managing containers in the yard.
- Oversee materials handling activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing products
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer demands
- Collaborate with buyers to fulfill orders
- Supervise a team of yard workers, providing guidance and support as needed
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, container organization, and identify areas for improvement
- Utilize forklifts, Off road wheel loader Cat 906, and other equipment for efficient movement of goods within the yard
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to increase productivity
- Coordinate with sales to optimize delivery schedules
Skills:
- wiling to learn different metal materials quickly
- able to lift materials up to 80 lbs
- Proficient in operating forklifts and other yard equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and guide a team
