As the Director of Engineering at Westgate River Ranch, you will be the visionary leader responsible for overseeing and driving the resort's engineering operations.
With your experience, technical expertise, and strategic mindset, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the operational strategy, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
You will lead a team of skilled professionals, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
*Responsibilities:* Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Develop and execute the strategic vision and direction for the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort's overall goals and objectives.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the maintenance team fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
* Responsible for creating and effectively managing the Engineering Department’s budget; reserves and capital expenditures, P&L reviews and forecasting expenses.
* Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the resort's infrastructure, mechanical systems, and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Manage, plan and execute multiple major capital improvement projects at a time along with our construction & development team, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
* Drive all internal projects by priority by engaging with stakeholders and adhering to best practices in project management.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with peers, external vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and effective partnership.
* Responsible for the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and assigned to the Engineering Department.
* Implement and enforce safety trainings, protocols, and procedures, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
* Expert in managing and understanding of MEP systems, grounds work, carpentry and construction.
* Expert ability to read & interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals.
* Must have the ability to recognize and resolve potential hazards in the property.
* Expert ability to use hand tools, electrical and battery powered tools and any other pertinent tool required by the work at hand.
* Ability to work using ladders, scaffolds, lifts, dust masks and work in confined/tight spaces.
* Ability to communicate and interpret guest needs by positively interacting towards resolutions.

* Construction or Engineering degrees are preferred.
* Prior experience in ranch and/or land operations highly preferred.
* Preferably licensed or certified in the major trades; refrigeration, plumbing or electrical.
* OSHA Safety Certification preferred.
*Qualifications:* * The individual must be energetic, self-motivated, and expressive with a keen eye for detail.
* Communicative to excel in guest and peer relations.
* Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Minimum of 6 years of leadership experience in a resort or commercial environment.
* Experienced in F&B and Grounds maintenance best practices.
* Experienced in effectively operating resort operations devices & software (HotSOS).
*Requirements:* * Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
* Must have a FL valid Driver’s license.
