*Position Description* As the Director of Vendor Management, you play a pivotal role reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
Your mandate is crucial in enhancing vendor relationships and driving technological advancements in our logistics and procurement systems.
This role requires strategic prowess in vendor management, proficiency in analytics programs, and successful oversight of technology projects.
Close collaboration with the SVP IT is integral for aligning vendor strategies with technological goals, ensuring seamless integration, and optimizing our sourcing systems.
*Primary Responsibilities* Vendor Engagement and Improvement: * Actively engage with and improve relationships with existing vendors.
* Streamline vendor processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Preferred Vendor Status and Negotiation: * Negotiate to achieve preferred status with key vendors, focusing on better delivery times and pricing.
* Utilize strategic relationships to secure favorable terms.
New Vendor Acquisition: * Identify and integrate new vendor opportunities to help grow the business, enhancing customer satisfaction and service delivery.
* Evaluate potential vendors for their ability to meet and exceed company standards.
Collaboration and Communication: * Work closely with the sourcing and contracts teams for seamless operations.
* Ensure effective communication between vendors and internal teams.
· Strategic and Technological Oversight: * Develop vendor management strategies aligned with company goals.
* Drive the maturation of the company's technological logistics and sourcing systems.
* Monitor and enhance vendor performance metrics.
Vendor Management * Monitor, Identify and advise possible solutions to Diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMLS) and parts obsolescence issues.
* Prepare business cases analysis for last time buys and/or lifetime buys.
* Advise sourcing on vendor qualification and capabilities based on sales and sourcing requirements.
*Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements* * Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a focus on logistics, operations management, supply chain management or a related field.
Master’s degree a plus.
* 5-10 years in vendor management with proven data analysis skill sets and experience with analytical tools and techniques.
* Strong negotiation, communication, strategic thinking, analytics analysis, and IT skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience in improving technological logistics and sourcing systems.
* Proficiency in using communication platforms to ensure effective collaboration between internal teams and vendors.
As well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis, and PowerPoint for presentation purposes.
