SUPERVISOR: Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Facility Services
Purpose:
Ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable condition.
To plan, organize and develop and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary and comfortable manner and to ensure that an adequate supply of laundry and linens are on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
Qualifications:
· Training in environmental control and operation of laundry equipment practices and procedures.
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must speak and understand English.
· Previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
· Positive attitude toward the elderly.
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel,
Word and the internet.
Past experience with and proficiency with computerized property management systems preferred.
Essential Job Functions: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Oversee the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
· Develops employee daily cleaning work schedules.
· Plans and coordinates all cleaning, floor care, room set-up, hazardous waste/trash/recycle removal and furniture move activities.
· Respond to and be available for all facility emergency calls.
· Staff Development Functions
· Develop and participate in planning, conducting and scheduling training, orientation and in-service educational activities for facility personnel; ensure that facility services personnel are performing required duties and that appropriate procedures are being followed; maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs, seminars and training programs; and, ensure that all facility services personnel attend and participate in Hazardous Communication and Universal Precautions training programs prior to reporting to work to assignments.
