POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in the hiring, onboarding, scheduling and performance of staff to provide for safe and efficient movement of patients and equipment to reduce wait times and improve customer experience.
The Supervisor of Clinical Transport Services models professionalism at all times and supports the Hospital Manager of Clinical Transport and Equipment Distribution with implementation of hospital and Health First policies and throughput objectives.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.
Provides positive leadership through purposeful rounding to give recognition and feedback, identify issues, remove barriers and address concerns.
2.
Promotes positive working relationships with nursing, environmental services and other teams essential to the success of the clinical transport team.
3.
Responsible for interviewing, selection, onboarding, development and performance reviews of direct reports
4.
Models professionalism and Health First I-CARE values in all customer and associate interactions and ensures direct reports do the same.
5.
Ensures timely communication of IDN and hospital operational updates, department metrics and daily huddle announcements
6.
Understands and utilizes the transport tracking system to appropriately flex staffing schedules to meet productivity standards.
7.
Tracks and trends audits on transporters to ensure negative trends are being addressed in a timely fashion.
8.
Oversees and monitors usage, cleaning, preventative maintenance and repair processes for department equipment to safely maximize its life expectancy.
9.
Understands and utilizes bi-weekly and monthly financial and personnel reports in decision-making.
10.
Compiles bi-weekly payroll report to ensure accurate distribution of regular hours, overtime, PTO and shift differentials.
11.
Securely maintains confidential information, personnel files and all supporting documents.
12.
Ensures mandatory requirements are completed by staff.
13.
Assists Hospital Manager of Clinical Transport and Equipment Distribution with department budget including capital expenditures and repair recommendations.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Work Experience: At least two (2) years of lead or shift supervision experience
• Licensure/Certification:
o Must hold current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider completion card and maintain annually with no interruption.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Demonstrated experience with spreadsheet and word processing applications
o Proficient in transport tracking technology, with demonstrated understanding of productivity metrics to flex staff to meet volumes
o Ability to engage and supervise independently working staff
o Ability to lead effectively in a stressful, fast paced environment
o Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with calm and effective response
o Ability to clearly direct and instruct others and effectively share feedback
o Organizational and assessment skills to effectively prioritize, coordinate, and schedule variable transport requests.
