Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Assist in the pre-preparation of food products as instructed by the Chef & Sous Chef.
To work safely & professionally with co-workers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Prepares daily soups, stocks, brazing and butchering.
Assists with daily family meals.
Assists Chef & Sous Chef in daily ordering, receiving & storage of deliveries.
Carefully follows the club's standard recipes while preparing all assigned items.
Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices including those related to personal hygiene.
Maintains a clean work station, including equipment used for food preparation tasks.
Attends department and staff meetings.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Chef and Sous Chefs.
Education and/or Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have a High School diploma or GED preferred.
Must have six months culinary work experience or previous hospitality industry cooking experience preferred.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Knowledge of basic food preparation principles to include Preparations of Blanching Vegetables, Soups, Stocks, Braising, and Roasting.
Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions and treined in food safety practices.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Licenses and Special Requirements
Food safety certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
Continuous repetitive motions.
Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
