The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Florida Tech invites applications for a non-tenure-track teaching position in computer science beginning August 2024 Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Computer Science The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Florida Tech invites applications for a non-tenure-track teaching position in computer science beginning August 2024.
Preference is for the Assistant Professor level, but other levels will be considered.
Required qualifications for the position include an earned Ph.
D.
in computer science or software engineering, or a closely related field, and a sincere interest in quality teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach a minimum of three courses per semester and advise students.
The position does not have a research requirement, but encourages service to the University and profession.
Applicants from all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to those specializing programming, programming language concepts, compilers, data science and database.
The department has ABET accredited programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering, and receives significant active research funding from a number of government agencies and industry partners.
Florida Tech is located on Florida’s Space Coast in Melbourne, one of the nation’s fastest growing high-tech areas.
A number of major corporations have a local presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary, 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 50 minutes from both Kennedy Space Center and Orlando.
