DevOps Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to design systems that will empower API development and modernization for the VA? As a DevOps engineer, you’ll bridge application development with automation frameworks and modern cloud infrastructure.
You know that a good system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to build a user-focused solution.
You can apply your skills and knowledge to lead a team that works together to devise a solution.
On our team, you’ll be trusted to help customers solve problems using the latest architectural approaches like microservices and strategies like cloud first.
You’ll use open-source frameworks, tools, and runtimes like TypeScript and NodeJS to design applications and backend services with consistent performance and scalability.
You’ll apply your skills within a DevOps framework to establish and use cloud service providers to further your clients’ meaningful missions.
In this role, you’ll directly impact the lives of countless Veterans by creating and maintaining developer-focused applications that support APIs consumed by first and third-party applications and services.
With mentoring, code reviews, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have: 5+ years of experience with DevOps and automation frameworks, including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Packer, Terraform, or CloudFormation 3+ years of experience with developing TypeScript and using JavaScript frameworks and runtimes, including NodeJS Experience with API development and microservices Experience with HTML and CSS3 Experience with Linux infrastructures, databases, including SQL, and scripting languages, including Bash and Python Experience working in a collaborative environment with other engineers, participating in pull request reviews, planning activities, and retrospectives Experience with continuous monitoring and logging tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, AlertManager, PagerDuty, Datadog, or Splunk Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience in a professional work environment in lieu of degree Nice If You Have: Experience with OAuth 2.

The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.
00 to $166,000.
