If hired, you will monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.
e.
GAAP), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create accurate financial reports.
The Staff Accountant, reporting directly to the Owner, is responsible for managing the Accounting Department, preparing journal entries, reviewing the general ledger and preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing accurate financial statements for multiple properties including hotels, apartments, and a shopping center.
Job Responsibilities: Oversee the operations of the accounting department.
Ensure that accounts payables are paid in a timely manner.
Oversee day-to-day banking and cash management activities and monthly bank reconciliations.
Assure timely closure of monthly and year-end accounts.
Ensure that accounts receivables are being collected in a timely manner.
Oversee that payroll is being processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain the general ledger, including account analysis.
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
Process month end journal entries and inventories Work closely with CPA on adjusting journal entries at year end.
Ensure investor payments are recorded accurately.
Assist with annual budgets.
Issue timely and complete financial statements Job Requirements The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills for the following responsibilities: Strong understanding of general ledger accounting Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience interpreting and producing accurate financial reports.
Hold yourself and others accountable.
Proficient in Windows and MS Office with an emphasis on Excel Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills and forecasting skills, technical proficiency, effective problem-solving skills, and strong ability to interpret statistical and accounting information/reports.
Specific Role Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related finance and accounting role.
Knowledge of hotel accounting systems, preferably M3 and Entrata Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
You must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug test.
